Annular solar eclipse of February 6, 2027

98 days to go.

On Saturday, February 6, 2027 the Moon passes in front of the Sun without covering it completely: in a narrow path that crosses southern Chile, northern Patagonia, the south of Buenos Aires province and southeastern Uruguay, a ring of fire is visible for up to about 7 and a half minutes on land (almost 8 at sea). In the rest of the Southern Cone the eclipse is partial.

Local time in each city. First those with the ring (from longest to shortest) and then the rest, from most to least of the Sun covered.

Not visible from: Bogotá, Ciudad de México, Madrid.

Protect your eyes: never look at the Sun without a certified solar filter (ISO 12312-2 standard), and never with sunglasses, X-ray film or smoked glass. In an annular eclipse you can never look at it without a filter, not even during the ring. A safe way: project it through a pinhole or a colander. How to watch it safely.
